Wing Commander is a 1999 science fiction film loosely based on the video game series of the same name. It was directed by Chris Roberts, the creator of the game series. This film has a fantastic cast: Freddie Prinze, Jr., Matthew Lillard, Saffron Burrows, Tchéky Karyo, Jürgen Prochnow, David Suchet and David Warner. It is the year 2654 and an interstellar war is raging between the Terran Confederation and the cat-like alien Kilrathi.
Thoughts
This is one of my all time favorite movies. When it comes to science fiction movies, they are generally horror movies with little thought to the futuristic universe they take place in. Wing Commander is one of the most interesting, fantastic science fictions movies. If you love science fiction, especially ones with space battles, you will enjoy this movie.
Plot
Blair, a fighter pilot, joins an interstellar war to fight the evil Kilrathi who are trying to destroy the universe.
