Iron Sky comes from the creators of Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning and was produced by Tero Kaukomaa of Blind Spot Pictures and Energia Productions, co-produced by New Holland Pictures and 27 Films, and co-financed by numerous individual supporters. It was theatrically released throughout Europe in April 2012. A director's cut of the film with 20 additional minutes was released on DVD and Blu-ray on 11 March 2014. A second movie is slated to come out in 2016.

After Earth is a 2013 American science fiction action adventure film written by Gary Whitta and M. Night Shyamalan whom also was the director. The story line was based on an original story idea by Will Smith, who also stars in the film along side his son Jaden Smith. Will Smith also was the producer via his company Overbrook Entertainment, distributed by Columbia Pictures. Originally released on May 31, 2013, it received negative reviews from critics and was considered a summer flop in North America. The film performed unexpectedly well in Europe and was a commercial success.

The film stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Milla Jovovich, and many others.
